Eileen is a person in long-term recovery who began volunteering at SOS in 2018. After retiring from a
career teaching high school English, she joined the SOS staff in 2022 as the Recovery Friendly Workplace
Coordinator. Working with state advisors on Gov. Sununu’s Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative,
Eileen is intent on helping to reduce stigma in the workplace for those suffering from substance use
disorder by providing resources and training to employers. She also offers peer recovery support to
employees in recovery. She loves spending time with her two sons and four step-children and their
families, especially her five grandchildren. She also enjoys hiking, gardening, writing and leading journal
writing workshops.
