Josh Colwell (He,Him), CRSW, Criminal Justice Recovery Supervisor

Josh is a person in long term recovery. He came to find recovery by walking through the
doors of the Rochester SOS after struggling with substance use disorder for a long period
of time which led him to have firsthand experience with the criminal justice system. Josh is
a proud AmeriCorps Alum where he served alongside other members throughout the state
in different Recovery Community Organizations for the Recovery Corps program.

He supervises our Peer Strength program, him and the team facilitate an All-Recovery
Meeting and a recovery capital workgroup inside the Rockingham County Jail with
individuals who are incarcerated and a part of the STAR program. They attend 5 different
drug courts, Strafford, Carroll, Coos, Cheshire, & Federal (LASER Docket), within the state
and provide peer support for those participants. You can also find them in the basement at
The Strafford County Superior Court House working with people engaged with Strafford
County Community Corrections, Probation/Parole and Drug Court.

Josh is one of the trainers for the Peer Assisted Recovery Bootcamp and has also started to
develop curricula for Peer-Assisted Recovery. He also has a Coach Level 1 Certification for
Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity.  When he is not at work you find him either
working out at his local CrossFit Box, spending time with his family, working on his own
personal recovery or wrenching on and riding his motorcycle.
